Venture 52 : Weeks 6 & 7

August 28th - September 10th
Since I was out of town last weekend, I was unable to post last weeks photos, so I have combined 2 weeks together for your viewing pleasure!  :o)

OUTSIDE OUR APARTMENT:
"Beautiful Rays"
I love sitting on my porch and watching the sky.  The rays coming through the clouds this day were just beautiful. I had a couple with even more areas of rays, but they weren't as clear, so I went with this one.

"Naturally Pink"
This is actually a tree, just outside our apartment building.  So pretty.

AT THE MALL WITH THE GIRLS:
 "My World is Spinning"
I was so happy with how these two pictures turned out.  This particular one is my favorite because I imagine that the background is exactly what it looks like inside Sophia's head...spinning spinning...always thinking.  She's such an amazing child.

"Baby-Go-Round"
Wasn't sure about Miss. Alley.  I think the spinning was making her a little dizzy so after I got this picture I made sister stop spinning the wheel.  Even if Alley wasn't dizzy, Nanny sure was!  Love this shot though and love this girl even more!

ON THE ROAD:
 "Stupendous Sunset"
I pulled off on one of those scenic turnouts on I-35 just at the right time.  The sunset was beautiful!  I only got a few shots though before I freaked out and jumped in my car and got out of there.  A large truck and a van pulled in and I just wasn't so sure I wanted to hang out there anymore.  I know, I'm a freak and probably over reacted...but it is what it is.

"Sunset Through the Trees"
Another view of the same sunset.  So pretty through the trees.

AT THE KANSAS CITY RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL:
 "Zuri's on Fire"
I love this shot of Cody (aka: Zuri) during Drum Jam at KCRF.

 "Duchess in Disguise"
Such a fun weekend.  Wendy makes a fabulous Evil Duchess and is an amazing actress.  This was a rare moment in a disguise as she was being sold to the Arabians.

 "Sweet Smiles and Shimmies"
This little girl was just too cute, I had to take her picture.
She was just dancing her little heart out.  So adorable.

 "Practically Pirate in Every Way"
I am not certain why I love this picture so much.  Perhaps it's because it is filled with extremely sexy pirates, or maybe it's because Albert and Ed are looking straight at me even though I am way at the back of the crowd, I just don't know.  However, I love it and I love Musical Blades!

 "Hot Stuff"
One of my favorite moments from Pub Sing.  Chris spun that fire on a rope all around his beautiful wife, Kelsey, and then flung it through her legs.  Obviously planned, but the look on her face was priceless, proving she's not only a great performer, but a fabulous actress as well.  Such a neat couple.

 "Fabulous Forever Friends"
I could never put into words how much this beautiful lady means to me.  I don't know if I could ask for a better friend.  I love her so much and hate that we live so far away from one another.  She is a beautiful soul; inside and out!  I love you, Portia!

 "LuLu"
This little beauty is one of the twins of a couple good friends of mine.  She is just too cute and this shot was too perfect.  They were in the process of trying to bring in a crowd for their show and she and her older sister were too adorable begging for people to take a seat.

"Gypsy Jewels"
Two incredible people, with huge incredible hearts!
I love that they got to RIDE in the parade on this day.  It's rare that Maestro even walks in the parade because he's usually RUNNING it from point to point as it is his job to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Kumpania Boleyn Photobook

I am putting this into a blog, because I'd like to share it with my Boleyn Family.  I have put together the following digital scrapbook pages from the Kumpania's trip to Wichita, KS last spring.  I have not sent it to the book printers yet and am wondering if any of you would be interested in purchasing a copy before I do.  There are 4 different sizes and depending on how many I order the price could change, because the printers run specials all the time (like buy one get one free, or get a certain percentage off an order of $100 or more).  Anyway, I am wanting to find out who would be interested and hoping we can all agree on 1 size book to get, because each size would be a seperate order, so the more we get in the same size the better the price.  Here's the price break down, based on ordering 1 or 2 books in each size.  (Will be less if more books are ordered.)
***Mini book: Softcover (2.75" X 3.5") cost = $5.00 however I do not recommend this size as there are several pictures per page and they will be hard to see.  Also, these softcover books tend to fall apart more easily.
***Pocketbook : (5.75" X 7.75") with Softcover cost = $15.00 Again, the softcover is fragile.  This size is also offered in a Hardcover Photo finish for = $24.00 Again it's a bit small, but better than the mini.
***Classic Hardcover book: (8.75" X 11.25") =  $35.00  I think this is the best quality book of the smaller books.  It's a perfect size.  Remember; the more books ordered the less that price per book will be.  I won't have them printed until I know exactly how many people want them and the printer is running a fantastic special...which they do often.
***Deluxe Hardcover book: (11.5" X 15") cost = $75.00  This is just for those of you who want the mammoth book and can afford it.  It would be worth the cost, but I know I can't afford this size...lol.  However again, the more who order the less that price will be.

So, check out the pages below and let me know if you are interested.  Love you guys!

BACK COVER
So, I hope you all like this.  Let me know if you are interested.  I will be in Kansas City for opening weekend of the festival if you would like to place an order.  I would like to collect around 50% of the advertised price before ordering and then will collect the remainder (which will probably be less that 50% based on how many are ordered and the special deal I can get) when I deliver the books, which should be around Thanksgiving...if not before.  So basically, an example of what that means would be as follows:  If we all order the classic sized book, advertised at $35.00.  I will collect $15 per person (hopefully this weekend at festival, since I will be there in person).  Then as soon as the printer is running a great special, I will order the books, most likely at a discount.  So if they only cost me $25.00 each to print and ship, then I will only collect an additional $10 at time of delivery.  Does that make sense?  I hope so.  I wish I could afford to just buy them for you, but I can't.  Love you guys!

Venture 52 : Week 5

August 21st - 27th
Only 5 photos were acceptable for posting this week, so the 2 at the end are picture I took with my cell phone just for some fun.  Please enjoy!  Also, just in case anyone is actually following my little photo venture here... I wanted to let you know that I will be out of town next weekend, so will not be posting week 6 until I also am posting week 7.  I may even combine those 2 weeks due to the fact that most of my photos in the next 2 weeks will be of my family and friends in Kansas City.  So here's this week...see you in 2 weeks.
"Colorful Tears"
For those who work with the renaissance festivals, you know that most of these colorful gems are referred to as 'dragon tears.'  I thought I'd capture the beauty of the colors in my cracked crystal bowl.

"Sweet Arrangement"
This beautiful cookie bouquet was given to me by the Ralston family, whom I nanny for, as our 1 year anniversary present.  I am so grateful this family has come into my life.  They are so precious to me and well...spoil me pretty rotten.  I'm one lucky lucky nanny.

"My Sweets"
A close up on the heart cookie in my cookie bouquet.  I also used a filter on the background so that just the heart cookie stood out.

"Smothered, Chunked, Capped and County"
My all time favorite cheat meal from The Waffle House!  I know, I know, so bad for the diet, but ya gotta treat yourself occasionally. ;)

"Tuna Kitty"
My sweet Tuna kitty.  She's a little bit of a freak, but I love her!

"Sophia Smurf"
That's right ladies and gentlemen.  Sophia chalked herself blue.  She's got the Smurf fever!  lol  This photo is from my Droid 3 phone and not the greatest quality, but I still think it captures her intensity of wanting to be blue that day!  Silly girl.  Love her!

"Alley Cool Cat"
When Alley realized that she couldn't see very well with the cap turned around the right way, she took it upon herself to turn it around.  It was too cute.  This is another photo from my Droid 3 phone.  It's fuzzy.  I tried to clean it up a bit, but this was the best I could do.  Still soooo cute though!  I love me some Alley Cat!

Venture 52 : Week 4

August 14th - 20th
This week has been a great week for my photography.  I took the girls out on a photo shoot at the botanical gardens and got some fantastic shots.  I have also been keeping my eyes open for opportunities for natural photos, as you will see in a few of the photos below.  After just 4 weeks on this venture, I really feel like my photography is improving.  I hope it continues to do so throughout the year.  I had a hard time narrowing my selection down to just 7 photos this week, so there are a few extras for you to enjoy.  :o)  They are not in the order that I took them.  It is just random, but they were all taken THIS week.

"Moonstruck"
I have been wanting to try to get a picture of the moon for awhile now.  I didn't think my camera could do such a great job.  I completely maxed out the zoom (way past the recommended level) for this one, but it came out pretty awesome, if I do say so myself.

"Nannies Girls"
I took over 200 pictures of the girls this day.  I have narrowed it down to my 3 favorite groups shots to post here.  I have the greatest, most rewarding job in the world...and the above 3 photos are just a small glimpse into how fabulous it is.  I love these girls too too much!

"Salad Prep"
Each week I spend 4-6 hours chopping veggies for our weekly salads.  In the large pot is the red cabbage, cauliflower and broccoli that I chopped prior to taking this photograph.  I love the lighting on the peppers.

"Pretty in Pink"
I thought these were beautiful little flowers that the girls and I found during our photo shoot at the botanical gardens in Grapevine.

"Spinning Sophia"
Sophia wanted to show off some of her dance moves for me and I was thrilled to have captured this moment as she leaped in the air and spun around.

"Splish Splash"
This was Alley's favorite area at the water park we went to the other day. She really disliked the water spraying in her face, but couldn't resist running through the sprinklers over and over again.  Silly little girl!

"Heavenly Light"
I love it when the light comes through the trees.  It seems to remind me that there is someone up there watching over me. (Not just God, but my Grandmother and her sisters as well.)  I'm not sure this photo captured what my eyes were seeing as well as I would have liked it to, but it was my first attempt at photographing it.  I will try again and hopefully it will get better.

Hope you have enjoyed this weeks photographs.  4 weeks of my "venture" down, only 48 to go!  Thanks for stopping by to check it out!
